Peace demonstrators William and Ellen Thomas were each sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Thomas A. Flannery to 30 days in prison for camping in Lafayette Square early last year.

The Thomases, who gave their address as 1440 N St. NW, had maintained a peace vigil across from the White House for several years.

The Thomases and several other peace demonstrators have been arrested repeatedly on charges of violating U.S. Park Service regulations governing signs and protests in the park across from the White House, but they had not been sentenced to prison previously.
