NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC

Temporary Closure of Sections of the
White House Sidewalk and Lafayette Park

Various sections of the White House sidewalk and Lafayette Park will remain closed to the public through February 22, 1993. The closures are necessary for the safety of the public until the dismantling of various structural components and cleanup of the public areas are completed. The area and its added structural components awere used for the 1993 Presidential Inauguration on January 20, 1993.

Specifically, those sections of the White House sidewalk located south of Pennsylvania Avenue between East and West Executive Avenues, and Lafayette Park, that are indicated by signs posted at conspicuous locations, will remain closed through February 22, 1993. These sections of the White House sidewalk and Lafayette Park will be opened as dismantling of the structural components and cleanup are completed.

Those persons wishing to conduct demonstration activities may do so in the remaining sections of the White House Sidewalk or Lafayette Park, if the sections are not closed, or at all times in the north half of Lafayette Park which will remain open throughout the post-Presidential Inauguration cleanup period.
