NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC

For an additional thirty days, the National Park Service is extending its public use limitation and will not issue demonstration and special use permits for Lafayette Park, the White House Sidewalk, and the elipse. This public use limitation is to ensure necessary security and safety for the adjacent White House complex, its occupants and the public. Violation is prohibited.

Activities which do not require a permit are not affected. In addition, other Federal Parks, including the nearby National Mall, Washington Monument grounds, Meridian Hill park, McPherson and Farragut Squares, Pershing park and Freedom Plaza, are available for permit and non-permit events.

The National Park Service appreciates the public's cooperation in this matter.
