Proposition One

THINKING GLOBALLY, ACTING LOCALLY
Is it Practical?
- It's important to remember that "law" is nothing more than what humanity creates. If enough people agree on any idea it can become law.
- Proposition One Committee members believe if the biggest nuclear powers firmly commit to mutually disarm, and focus their foreign policy on global disarmament and productivity, other nations will follow the example.
- Of course, a goal of this magnitude will not become reality without massive support. But the fall of the communist regime in Eastern Europe is evidence that non-violent social change is possible when the majority agrees. And hopeful recent developments in the World Court, the United Nations, and among ex-military leaders from many countries, all point to nuclear weapons as illegal, immoral, unsafe, and horribly impractical.
