October 2, 1986 Vice President George Bush Dirksen Bldg Room 202 Washington DC 20510 Dear Vice President George Bush: Since June 1981, a 24 hour Vigil for World Peace and Disarmament has been maintained at Lafayett Park, across from the White House, 1600 Pennsylvana Ave., Washington, D.C. The vigil will continue until the threat of planetary holocaust has been removed. Charles L. Hyder, Ph.D., joined the Vigil during December 1985, then permanently on March 20, 1986. On September 23, 1986, Charles started a fast (water only). He is prepared to die, if necessary, in order to stop a nuclear holocaust. I am enclosing literature that Charles has written. I encourage you to read all of it. Anything that you can do to help avoid a nuclear holocaust and the death of a very dear friend will be greatly appreciated. Charles is usually at the Peace Vigil almost every day. If you need more information, go to the park, visit with him or write: Charles Hyder P.O. Box 27217 Washington, D.C. 20038. We need your help.
