This morning 26 Colorado activsts gathered along the road leading into the Lockheed Martin Waterton Canyon Plant for a vigil commemorating the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Lockheed is the largest defense contractor in the world. They are intimate partners with the Air Force and the U.S. Space Command in the expressed mission of air and space dominance. The recent issue of Aviation Week features 21st Century fighters (air planes) and highlights the F-22 Raptor by Lockheed Martin and Boeing as the standard for the future. "The first thing it will kill is an enemy's appetite for war." Who has the appetite? The vigilers held signs calling on the hundreds of drivers pouring into the plant to work for peace and stop producing tools of war. In contrast the banner above the entrance to the plant reads, "Hope Begins Here." Peace to all, Byron Plumley AFSC Disarmament Program 1664 Lafayette St Denver, CO. 80218
