WHY SLAUGHTER THE INNOCENT?

The UN Reports that after 8 years of sanctions on Iraq:

* 1.5 MILLION Iraqis are dead; some 800,000 of them CHILDREN under the age of 5. * Some 5-6,000 more Iraqi children die from the sanctions EACH MONTH.

WHY SLAUGHTER THE INNOCENT?

* 70% of pregnant women in Iraq are now suffering from anemia. * The number of birth deformities and child cancer patients has exploded.

WHY SLAUGHTER THE INNOCENT?

* 960,000 Iraqi children under the age of five suffer from chronic and severe malnutrition. * This month, on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan, US bombers destroyed a UN warehouse in Iraq containing 2600 tons of rice intended for hunger relief.

WHY SLAUGHTER THE INNOCENT?

* During the Gulf War of 1991, US bombs destroyed every sewage treatment plant in Iraq. * Then, the sanctions forbade Iraq from purchasing parts to repair the sewage treatment plants. * Now, Iraqi children walk in raw sewage up to their knees; a simple cut can be fatal.

WHY SLAUGHTER THE INNOCENT?

* Bombing only makes people rally around the government (Remember Pearl Harbor?) * Sanctions enrich black marketeers and government cronies. * A sickened and dying people cannot struggle for freedom. * What future are we making for our children?
