ALBANIAN MESSAGE TO THE WHITE HOUSE

On March 31, 1999, somewhere between two and three thousand Kosovar Albanian sympathizers came to Lafayette Park to express their opinions on the Serbian/Albanian/Kosovan conflict.

Albanian demonstrators happily chanted,
"Bomb, NATO, Bomb!!"

Consistent with the NATO party line,
Milosevic was portrayed as "Hitler."

Although Albanian Kosovars were happy about the NATO bombing, decried genocide, and wrapped themselves in the flag, their oft-chanted demand

... "Arm the KLA!!" ...

made one wonder whether they would be opposed to genocide if Serbians were the target.

"Send in the Ground Troops!!"
was another favorite chant.

Additionally, notwithstanding Albanian cries for freedom, there were indications that they were only concerned with Albanian freedom.
