There is a very strong likelihood of NATO bombing of Yugoslavia this weekend, particularly if no agreement is reached at the negotiations in RAMBOUILLET, France. The U.S. is very eager to launch a bombing campaign against this small country to demonstrate that NATO has become the worlds new police force. Madeleine Albright declared in December that NATO now reserves the right to intervene any where in the world, and a campaign in Yugoslavia would be a place to assert this right. Express your anger at this latest outrage of US imperialism. Don't be fooled by any phony US expressions of support for the Albanians, the US is just manipulating them as it did with the Kurds in Iraq and the Hmong in Vietnam. The US cares nothing for the Albanians, it is only seeking to use them to further break up, isolate and destroy what remains of Yugoslavia, just as they are doing with Iraq.

Demonstrate Sunday:
NO U.S./NATO BOMBING OF YUGOSLAVIA
Sunday, February 21st, 2:00pm
White House Sidewalk, 16th Street and Pennsylvania Ave. NW
· Stop the U.S./NATO breakup of Yugoslavia!
· End ALL the sanctions against Yugoslavia!
· Stop the U.S. war on Yugoslavia
· No US aid to Neo-Nazi groups like the K.L.A.
· End the sanctions on Iraq!
Don't fall the lies of the Washington Post, the New York Times
and other imperialist mouthpieces. The crisis in Yugoslavia is
not about minority rights, massacres or any other phony issue.
The issue is the claiming of the right to be the world's policeman
by the U. S. and its imperialist allies in NATO. This tiny group
of rich white men wants to dictate to every small, struggling
country how they should behave, , what their foreign policy should
be, who they should have friendly relations with. Countries like
Yugoslavia, Iraq, Cuba, Libya and Sudan, which the U.S. has imposed
sanctions on because of their policy in one area or another.
NATO troops will not be sent to Yugoslavia to defend minority right or prevent massacres, they are an invasion force that will be sent to impose U.S. will on Yugoslavia. U.S troops were sent to Haiti a few years ago, but today there is still a repressive military apparatus that essentially runs the country, with U.S. support.
In Colombia, death squads linked to the Colombian military openly carry out massacres,, and then boast about it. Hundreds of peasants and human rights workers have been massacred in Colombia in the past few weeks alone; yet the U.S. is not threatening to bomb that country. On the contrary, Colombia is the one of the largest recipients of U.S. military aid in the world.
In East Timor, , hundreds of thousands have died because of
the genocidal policies of the fascist Indonesian military, yet
the U.S is not threatening to bomb fat country either. Indonesia
is also a large recipient of US. Military aid, which is used
to commit the genocide against East Timor
