Human Rights In China and Tibet!

As CHINESE PREMIER ZHU RONGJI meets with US officials and seeks entry for China into the World Trade Organization, we call on the Clinton Administration and Congress to definitively raise the issue of human rights and push for China to open meaningful dialogue with the Dalai Lama of Tibet.

In the five years since the Clinton Administration formally de-linked human rights and trade In China, the policy of "constructive engagement" has produced only increased repression and human rights abuses in China and Tibet and an unprecedented $60 billion dollar trade deficit for the US!

We want meaningful progress on the issue of Tibet- Negotiations between China and the Dalai Lama!!!

Did you know that...

* Since 1949, when Chinese forces invaded Tibet, 1.2 million Tibetans have lost their lives and 6,000 monasteries and shrines have been destroyed?

* Every year thousands of Tibetans are imprisoned and tortured for nonviolent expression of their views, and thousands more are forced to flee into exile, making the treacherous Journey across the Himalayas to India?

* The Tibetan people depend on your support? Everyone can participate in helping the Tibetan people and their ancient culture. We invite you to get involved. Please join us by contacting:
