A situation was created on July2, 1996, resulting from a promise by the Forest Supervisor to the rainbow family, to remove checkpoint on Forest Road 1173. After the promise was made, the Chief of the Forest Service upheld the promise, the Mark Twain National Forest wants to go on record recommending to either remove the checkpoint, or restrict all personnel from entering the gathering. It is believed a dangerous situation exists and harm may come to anyone that enters into the gathering.

Billy Ball, Jom Scott, and Kim Thorsen were made aware of the position the Mark Twain had taken to protect those that are at risk at a meeting 7/3/96 at 1:00 hours at Thomasville ICP
