I went to Main Council in Vermont on July 1st, 1991, at noon, to give a
report on my activities with the Legaliaison/DC Crew for the previous
year, and to submit my formal resignation. part of my report was an
explanation of how one of our volunteers, Gabe Kircheimer, had used
funds donated to the DC Crew to make two full copies of about L000 pages
of Rainbow legal archives made available by Garrick Beck.
The plan of the DC Crew, as I understood and reported it, was to loan
one copy of these archives to a lawyer that was expressing interest in
Rainbow’s situation; the lawyer subsequently claimed to have sent them
back to the DC Crew, but they were never received, and are now
considered to be lost.
This plan of the DC Crew was also to safeguard and maintain the other
copy somewhere in the DC area, and to make them available to all members
of the Family for perusal and photocopying, in a manner that was
reasonable without endangering the integrity of the archives. This copy
of the archives remained in Thumper's apartment for about a year;
Thumper then decided that he could no longer safeguard and make
available the archives, and asked the Proposition One office if they
were willing to take on the responsibility. They agreed, and the
Proposition One office has been home to this archive aver since.
In making my report to the Council, I invited the Family to express
concern and/or approval of our actions; I do not recall any concerns
being expressed about the way we were handling the archives, and
objections to any of our actions were conspicuously absent.
Onelove,
