ENDLESSLY CONTINUOUS
Instinctively, in the
beginning Rainbow realized that Tradition, as the lifeblood of a people, was sacred,
and it was established that the Rainbow Family would exist from July 1 - 7th "on the
land." From the start it was also agreed that the
Family would gather once in each of the fifty states before gathering
for a second time in any one state.
As the years passed, Rainbows aged, fell into routines, and, little by little,
compromised to changes in the macrocosmic "Babylonian" environment which they
inhabited between July 7th - July 1st, when they went "Home" again ... for a
week.
The second tradition was abrogated first, in 1992, when, "officially" to honor
the 20th anniversary of the first Gathering, the Family held its second Gathering in the
State of Colorado, which, appropriately, had been the site of the first Gathering.
Rumor has it that somehow the second tradition was abrogated -- supposedly "on the
land" -- when a scout council decided that the Gathering would occur from June 28th
to July 14th. According to Rainbow legend some legendary characters were
instrumental in this monumental Rainbowism evolutionary chronological process. But
