CHANGE, THE ONE THING ENDLESSLY CONTINUOUS

Instinctively, in the beginning Rainbow realized that Tradition, as the lifeblood of a people, was sacred, and it was established that the Rainbow Family would exist from July 1 - 7th "on the land." From the start it was also agreed that the Family would gather once in each of the fifty states before gathering for a second time in any one state.

As the years passed, Rainbows aged, fell into routines, and, little by little, compromised to changes in the macrocosmic "Babylonian" environment which they inhabited between July 7th - July 1st, when they went "Home" again ... for a week.

The second tradition was abrogated first, in 1992, when, "officially" to honor the 20th anniversary of the first Gathering, the Family held its second Gathering in the State of Colorado, which, appropriately, had been the site of the first Gathering. Rumor has it that somehow the second tradition was abrogated -- supposedly "on the land" -- when a scout council decided that the Gathering would occur from June 28th to July 14th. According to Rainbow legend some legendary characters were instrumental in this monumental Rainbowism evolutionary chronological process. But don't worry, rumor is that scout council's Tradition Revolution was all

"ACCORDING TO PROCESS."
