SORRY, MY MISTAKE.
Thomas tries to be honest, discourages hypocrisy, and encourages others to read carefully, but Thomas is only human. So as not to act hypocritically, Thomas tries to read carefully and with an open mind. Being human he simply doesn't have time to read everything.
Because it addressed something meaningful, Thomas read "Plan B," the "unofficial" Rainbow regulation strategy, with considerable care.
Because he doesn't like self-aggrandizing, vague, rambling heartsongs, Thomas didn't happen to read the entirety of the brothers Principal and Practical, printed in the 1993 All Ways Free, until he found time to re-read it in March, 1997.
What an incredible surprise, after all this time, to stumble upon written evidence of the vague, unfriendly tales these brothers, and a few others, had been spreading in public for years.
Thomas was particularly surprised that these good folks had been circulating these rumors for all that time, despite the fact that Thomas had met them on the land, in council, and none of them ever had the integrity to confront Thomas personally. Even though their allegations were of import to the right to gather, thus of concern to the Family, the brothers never voiced the charges in the council circle either, where, according to "Process," Family business is conducted.
