Dear Sir or Madam,
This is a request for information made pursuant to the Freedom of
Information Act.
It is my understanding that the National Forest Service has
recently won an exemption from the regulatory moratorium which
President Bush declared in August, 1992, and that last week NFS
sent to OMB the draft of a rulemaking proposal which would amend
36 C.F.R. 2.51 and/or 2.61 concerning public gatherings,
assemblies or meetings in the National Forests.
I hereby request a copies of the any documents reports, memos, or
other information relating to exemption from the Presidential
regulatory moratorium granted with respect to the aforesaid draft
rulemaking proposal.
This information will be used solely for educational purposes.
Disclosure of the requested document will contribute
significantly to public understanding of the operations and
activities of the government. Subsequently a waiver of fees
would probably be appropriate.
I am anxious to have this information as soon as possible, and do
not want consideration of a fee waiver to delay transmission of
the requested draft. I don't expect that the requested
information will exceed fifty pages in length. However, my
financial resources are limited, therefore please obtain approval
from me before incurring any expenses in excess of $10.00.
I would appreciate a response within the 10 working days
proscribed by law.
Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
